merry monday you,

care to dance? & win prizes? you came to the right place.

my life long mentor, martha, requested to take center stage this morning. i only accepted because her name starts with m & her dancing skills are out of this world.

i’m not talking snoop dogg’s friend martha, i’m referring to the martha that was named the “dancer of the century” by time magazine. the founder of the oldest dance school in the US, the first dancer to perform at the white house, and the prolific choreographic that was declared a “national treasure.”

her name is martha graham

to her, dance was was more than the physical movement, it was a way of living the dance of life.

she fully embodied this week’s mindset & mission.

message is still the same.

martha once shared advice to a younger artist on this in much more poetic terms:

by holding back, you’re holding the world back 🤯 

this applies to all of us, not just artists. the mission of our life is to explore all of our unique self-expressions.
