let's dare to dance
brilliant + lfg + prizes
Read time: 2 minutes
merry monday you,
care to dance? & win prizes? you came to the right place.
my life long mentor, martha, requested to take center stage this morning. i only accepted because her name starts with m & her dancing skills are out of this world.
iām not talking snoop doggās friend martha, iām referring to the martha that was named the ādancer of the centuryā by time magazine. the founder of the oldest dance school in the US, the first dancer to perform at the white house, and the prolific choreographic that was declared a ānational treasure.ā
her name is martha graham
to her, dance was was more than the physical movement, it was a way of living the dance of life.
she fully embodied this weekās mindset & mission.
mindset
remind yourself this week that youāre brilliant.
said in reverse by martha:
yes, a very similar quote is attributed to anthony bourdain, so picture him if heās more your vibe.
message is still the same.
donāt waste time on the ordinary, live in your extraordinary.
youāre built for brilliance.
mission
with your brilliance in tow, now letās f*ck!ng go
martha once shared advice to a younger artist on this in much more poetic terms:
by holding back, youāre holding the world back š¤Æ
this applies to all of us, not just artists. the mission of our life is to explore all of our unique self-expressions.
dance while the music is being played.
musing
iāve got two musings that i hope are music to your ears:
#1. new cards just dropped on merry makery, featuring the themes of brilliance & lfg, with a wildcard card for a birthday or anniversary.
#2. iām officially launching a newsletter referral rewards program !!!
the more the merrier is true for dancing & for merry makery.
so i kindly ask that you share this newsletter with your favorite dance partners.
referrals = free cards (+ my forever adoration)
iāll share the full details of all prize levels in next weekās issue as iām still trying to make swag youāll want to use.
i think youāre a national treasure,
MacK
